Winter Themes Schedule.

OK, here's the schedule for the winter months...
  • JANUARY: Healthy homemade soups
  • FEBRUARY: Warm and Toasty drinks AND Simple yet substantial breakfasts that stick to your bones.
  • MARCH : Portable meals for when you're on the go (preferably that don't have to be refrigerated)
Hopefully knowing the themes now will give you time to brainstorm. By the way, I hope you know that I'm not expecting you to be cooking experts and to come with long time recipes. I'm personally going to let google do the work for me :0) In fact, for those of you who are like me and don't have a very big repertoire of recipes, here are a few website links that might be helpful:

And so it begins!

I was recently at a cooking group. As much as I enjoyed it, most of the women there were more experienced in the kitchen and I felt rather intimidated and a bit out of place. I decided that it'd be fun to start a group that caters more to girls like me who are newer to the cooking and baking scene....still in college, newly wed, young mom, living on your own and just want some new recipes, and so on.

This is how it's going to work...

  • One Saturday a month we'll be getting together to swap recipes based on that month's theme. (For instance: soups, salads, quick main dishes, sandwiches, healthy snacks, etc.)
  • If the theme looks intersting and you want to join us leave a comment with the title of your dish and email me a copy of your recipe. When that particular Saturday comes, make your yummy recipe (8 servings) and head on over for some taste testing and recipe swapping!
  • Make sure to bring a tupperware to take home some to share with roomies, friends, your husband, kids, etc.

*Speaking of husbands and kids...this is a chance for just the girls to get together. So if you have kids leave them at home with your hubby :0) BUT reassure him it'll be well worth it (and only an hour long, 10-11AM)...he'll get to sample all the yummy leftovers you bring home AND will get to be the guinea pig for your new repertoire of recipes :0)

  • I'll take a picture of each yummy dish that you bring and that after our swap I'll post all of the recipes on the blog...that way everyone and anyone can easily access the recipes online.
And there you have it. Hope it sounds like fun and that you'll
join in the Sweet And Savory Recipe Swappers!
